KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA — Tan Sri Annuar Musa, a veteran leader in UMNO (United Malays National Organisation), was among the three leaders sacked for sabotaging the party.

UMNO Secretary-General Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan confirmed today (9 December) that the party’s Supreme Council had taken action against Annuar Musa and two other party leaders, Malaysia media Berita Harian reported.

The other two sacked from the party are the UMNO women division chief in Arau and Maran, Datin Seri Shamsiah Md Yassin and Datin Seri Fatimah Kassim.

Ahmad Maslan said the trio were proven to have violated Clause 20.9 of the party’s Constitution as well as matters regarding members’ code of conduct.

Datuk Dr Mohd Puad Zarkashi, UMNO Supreme Council member, said the trio were said to have also smeared and campaigned against the party.

He said UMNO president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi insisted he would not compromise with members who berated or leaked vital information against UMNO.

Former Ketereh MP Sidelined From Contesting In GE15

The former Ketereh MP was sidelined by Zahid Hamidi from contesting in the 15th Malaysia General Election. Previously he served as Minister of Communications and Multimedia under Ismail Sabri’s administration.

As the leading party in Barisan National(BN), UMNO faced its worst result in history by winning just 26 seats out of 120 seats that it contested.

Annuar Musa had been publicly criticising his chairman for the past two years, especially against the top leadership’s decision to agree for Pakatan Harapan chairman Anwar Ibrahim to become the next PM after bringing down the 8th prime minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

In a recent post which seems to be in reference to his sacking, Annuar Musa wrote that he had dreamt about an attempt to save “the house” he inherited from burning down; however, he has failed and can only watch the house consumed by fire.

“I love the house. I tried to put off the fire so that we could stop more of its occupants from abandoning our house, ” Annuar Musa said as many people kept escaping from the house while the fire was still raging, he was suddenly pulled out from the fire.

“Now I can only see the fire from outside. Even though I love that house very much, I can only pray, ” he concluded.
