The Ministry of Health (MOH) in its daily update on Friday (27 Aug) has reported three more cases of death from complications due to COVID-19 infection.
There are 3 cases who have passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection, all of whom were unvaccinated against COVID-19. Of these, 2 (Cases 68636 and 68664) were non-ambulatory and had limited movement outside of their homes, but yet had been infected as unlinked cases.
Case 67918, an 80 year-old male Singaporean, has passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection on 26 August 2021. He tested positive for COVID-19 infection on 7 August and was admitted to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital on the same day. He had no known medical conditions.
Case 68636, a 70 year-old female Singaporean, has passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection on 27 August 2021. She had been admitted to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH) for an unrelated medical condition on 11 August and tested negative for COVID-19 upon admission. Another test taken on 17 August came back positive for COVID-19 infection. She had a history of diabetes mellitus, ischaemic heart disease, end stage renal failure, hypertension and hyperlipidaemia.
Case 68664, a 90 year-old female Singaporean, has passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection on 26 August 2021. She had been conveyed to KTPH for an unrelated medical condition on 18 August and tested positive for COVID-19 infection on 19 August. She had a history of cancer, heart disease, hypertension and hyperlipidaemia.
In total, Singapore’s COVID-19 death toll has reached 55.
In August alone, 18 individuals have passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection so far.

- 16 Aug: A 64-year-old Singaporean man
- 17 Aug: A 90-year-old Singaporean man
- 19 Aug: A 82-year-old Singaporean man
- 21 Aug: A 91-year-old Permanent Resident woman
- 22 Aug: A 87-year-old Singaporean man
- 23 Aug: A 86-year-old Singaporean woman
- 24 Aug: A 86-year-old Singaporean man
- 25 Aug: A 95-year-old Singaporean woman
There are two new clusters reported by MOH. They are Tuas South Lodge and Clementi Bus Interchange. The cluster at Bugis Junction has grown to 151 with 47 new cases.
MOH earlier reported an additional 122 cases of COVID-19 infection in Singapore.
There are 120 new cases of locally transmitted COVID-19 infection, of which 47 are linked to the growing Bugis Junction cluster.
Of the remaining 73 cases, 31 are linked to previous cases and have already been placed on quarantine. 16 are linked to previous cases and were detected through surveillance.
26 are currently unlinked.
“Amongst the cases are 3 seniors above 70 years who are unvaccinated/ partially vaccinated, and are at risk of serious illness,” said MOH.
In addition, there are two new imported cases, who have already been placed on Stay-Home Notice (SHN) or isolated upon arrival in Singapore. Both were detected upon arrival in Singapore.
The total number of infection cases in Singapore stands at 67,050.
