As of Friday noon (28 May), the Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed an additional 30 cases of COVID-19 infection in Singapore.

This brings the total number of infection cases to 61,970.

There are 15 new cases of locally transmitted COVID-19 infection. 11 are linked to previous cases, amongst whom eight have already been placed on quarantine, and three were detected through surveillance.

“The remaining 4 are currently unlinked,” said MOH.

“Based on our investigations so far, the cases are in the community, and there are no new cases in the dormitories.”

In addition, there are 15 new imported cases, who had been placed on Stay-Home Notice (SHN) upon arrival in Singapore. Of these, eight are returning Singaporeans or Singapore Permanent Residents (PRs).

The Ministry will share further updates in its press release tonight.

According to last night’s press release, there are currently 245 confirmed cases who are still in hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and two are in critical condition in the intensive care unit (ICU).

291 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms, or are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19.

32 have passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection.
