24 new cases of COVID-19 infection in S’pore; 3 out of 15 locally transmitted cases unlinked

As of Thursday noon (27 May), the Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed an additional 24 cases of COVID-19 infection in Singapore.

This brings the total number of infection cases to 61,940.

There are 15 new cases of locally transmitted COVID-19 infection. 12 are linked to previous cases, all of whom have already been placed on quarantine.

“The remaining 3 are currently unlinked,” said MOH.

“Based on our investigations so far, 14 are in the community, and 1 resides in a dormitory.”

In addition, there are nine new imported cases, who had been placed on Stay-Home Notice (SHN) or isolated upon arrival in Singapore. Of these, seven are returning Singaporeans or Singapore Permanent Residents (PRs).

The Ministry will share further updates in its press release tonight.

According to last night’s press release, there are currently 242 confirmed cases who are still in hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and two are in critical condition in the intensive care unit (ICU).

282 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms, or are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19.

32 have passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection.
