A fire broke out in a bedroom at the Compass Heights condominium in Sengkang on Monday afternoon (26 Apr).

In a Facebook post yesterday, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said that it was alerted to the fire at about 12.05pm at 11 Sengkang Square.

According to the SCDF, the fire involved the contents of a bedroom in a unit on the eight floor.

“The fire had also caused the bedroom’s window panes to shatter,” it added.

Firefighters extinguished the fire using one water jet.

Two people were in the affected unit at the time of the blaze. They were assessed by the SCDF, and did not require medical assistance.

No other injuries were reported.

As a precautionary measure, about 20 people from the neighbouring units were evacuated.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

A video circulating on social media shows the unit on fire from afar.
