The sale of new private homes in Singapore rose 57 per cent last month, with 1,217 units sold by developers, as compared to the 774 units sold in November last year, according to data released by Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) on Friday (15 January).
The Business Times reported that the preliminary figure for the sales of private property by developers hit 10,024 units for the whole of last year, which surpassed 2019’s level of 9,912 units by 1.1 per cent.
URA noted that the figures were not including executive condominium (EC) units – a public-private housing hybrid.
Developers sold 1,265 units in December last year, if including ECs, which showed an increase of 53.9 per cent from the 822 units sold in November, and 2.3 times the 551 units in December 2019.
Additionally, URA expected to release the final figures for the fourth quarter and full-year 2020 by 22 January.
