As of Monday noon (18 May), the Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed an additional 305 cases of COVID-19 infection in Singapore.
This brings the total tally of infected cases to 28,343.
MOH in its statement today said that the lower daily figure recorded today “is partly due to fewer tests being processed, as one testing laboratory is reviewing its processes following an earlier apparatus calibration issue, and will need time to ramp up its testing capacity”.
There are only two cases of community infection, both are Singaporeans/Permanent Residents. Another 303 cases involving Work Permit holders residing in dormitories.
There are no imported cases today.
Of the new cases, 99% are linked to known clusters, while the rest are pending contact tracing.

- Seven of the newly confirmed cases are linked to 11 previous cases to form a new cluster at 2 Kampong Ampat.
- 10 of the earlier confirmed cases have now been linked to form a new cluster at 43 Tuas View Close.
- Four of the earlier confirmed cases have now been linked to form a new cluster at 117 Tuas View Walk 1.
