Singaporeans and Permanent Residents intending to sign up their children at any of the 36 Ministry of Education (MOE) kindergartens participating in the 2020 exercise for next year’s Kindergarten 1 (K1) admission may do so starting 7 Feb.

MOE in a statement on Tue (14 Jan) said that online registration for the K1 admission exercise will be open from 9am on 7 Feb to 4pm on 11 Feb on the MOE Kindergartens website.

The registration exercise will be open to children born between 2 Jan 2016 and 1 Jan 2017, both dates inclusive. Parents will be informed of the registration outcome by 31 Mar.

Several MOE Kindergartens will also be holding open houses on 1 Feb and 8 Feb to give parents of prospective pupils the opportunity to tour the MOE kindergartens’ facilities and to learn more about the kindergartens.

Parents without internet access, noted the Ministry, can visit their MOE Kindergarten of choice in person on 10 Feb from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., during which they will be given guidance by teaching staff to complete the online registration.

More details can be found on the MOE Kindergartens website.

A Malaysian man sparked outrage when he sought advice on a Facebook group about removing his sister’s rights to their family home. In his post, he explained his desire to start a new family and claimed it was inappropriate for him to live with his sister. However, his heartless intentions faced strong criticism from group members, leading to the post’s deletion. A lawyer pointed out that the man technically only owned a 15% stake in the house, prompting further backlash from netizens who suggested he should be the one to move out and find a new home.
