Education Minister Ong Ye Kung's song performances helped to raise $100,000 from Sheng Siong Group for charity
Education Minister, Ong Ye Kung helped to raise $100,000 for charity by performing three songs in English, Mandarin and Hokkien at the 2nd Blossom Seeds Tribute Charity Lunch.
Organised by Blossom Seeds Limited, the charity lunch was held on Sunday, 29 December at Jurong Safra to pay tribute to seniors.
Ong Ye Kung, also the guest of honours delivered the rendition of Teresa Teng’s Evening Primrose as well as the theme song of Taiwanese Hokkien Drama “Night Market Life”.
Sheng Siong Group sponsored $100,000 for Ong’s song performances.
The charity lunch has raised over $300,000 for the renovation of Blossom Seeds centre at Canberra Street and installation of new facilities in its centre.
In line with the theme “Blossom Tribute to Seniors”, this year charity lunch attended by more than 1000 people, mostly elderly people from Sembawang area.
Blossom Seeds is a registered charity which set up by members of BW Monastery Singapore in 2013 and its operation relies on the donations from public and organisations to fund and sustain free programs for the needy elderly.
Various programmes and services such as home-based services and active ageing programmes also offered by Blossom Seeds which aimed to provide the care for seniors with love and support them to actively care for others.
