资助恐怖主义活动,前资讯科技工程师被判监禁两年六个月

一名前资讯科技工程师被指控资助恐怖主义活动,昨日(17日)被判处两年六个月,成为首名因抵触恐怖主义(取缔资金)法令而被治罪的本国人。

今年35岁的乌杜曼(Ahmed Hussein Abdul Kadir Sheik Uduman),被指向一名涉嫌向恐怖主义行动资助两笔共1145元的资金,在法庭认罪。

法庭获悉,乌杜曼在2013年透过网站与Youtube认识了目前居住在牙买加的激进传教士Sheikh Abdullah al-Faisal。
检方表示,激进传教士以宣扬“圣战”,也支持伊斯兰组织通过暴力建立与捍卫ISIS。曾教唆他人杀掉犹太人、美国人、印度教徒和基督教徒,并使用激进语言挑衅其他种族,2003年在英国被判九年监禁。

对此,乌杜曼是清楚且赞同激进传教士的理念,并且伸出援手欲协助传教士。

乌杜曼深受影响,两人即以脸书、电邮以及WhatsApp的方式进行沟通,随后乌杜曼发现它可以透过捐赠的方式协助传教士,更是跃跃欲试,因此曾与2016年7月将1059元转至一个名为“Patrick Gray”的账号。同年9月,他再次透过传教士的妻子资助,共62美元。

2018年,乌杜曼被发现其激进行为,且欲参与叙利亚ISIS的武装暴力行动,最终在2018年7月以内安法令下被逮捕。

控方表示,根据目前所掌握的证据已凸显恐怖主义潜在危险及其深远的影响,并表示取缔恐怖主义是重要的抗争。

“因此,在取缔暴力组织的意识形态上,必须是毫不犹豫地态度,而且这也是作为国际社会一份子必须履行的一项重要责任。

对此,乌杜曼表示认罪,并向法庭承诺将在获释后成为一名好公民。法官亦认同控方提出的两项指控,裁定判处30个月与6个月。

资助恐怖主义行动可被判处最高10年监禁及罚款50万元。
