Second train delay on Thursday on NSL due to ‘door fault’

Following a morning delay, another train disruption occurred on Thursday in the evening, caused by a platform screen door fault at Dhoby Ghaut Station. This time the incident took more than two hours, causing problems and delay for many passengers including the ones who wanted to break their fast on this first day of Ramadhan.

At 6:16pm Nurul Syafiqa started the tweets processions due to the train disruption:

Other tweets followed from other upset passengers:

At 6:06pm SMRT tweeted an official information, asking for 15 minutes additional travel time from Ang Mo Kio to Dhoby Ghaut towards Marina South Pier:

At 6:15pm SMRT tweeted again, now asking for 25 minutes additional travel time from Ang Mo Kio to Dhoby Ghaut towards Marina South Pier:

Harvinder Singh posted a short video of the problematic door in Twitter:

At 6:36pm SMRT tweeted again, still asking for 25 minutes additional travel time from Ang Mo Kio to Dhoby Ghaut towards Marina South Pier:

Other commuters questioned the direction of delay because it did not match the reality:

Not answering or apologizing to the commuters' questions and complaints, SMRT again asked to expect additional travel time at 6:43pm:

Which made passengers more upset:

Kate Liew also questioned the direction of the delay, was it one way or both ways?:

But SMRT kept quiet, and tweeted again for 35 minutes additional travel time at 7:13pm instead:

However, Harvinder Singh opined that SMRT handed the incident well, the staff made sure passengers stayed clear of the screen door; safety first:

At 7:39 SMRT's tweet again asked for additional travel time, this time for 45 minutes:

Chris Tay tweeted his different opinion: just bypass the station with the faulty door, he wrote:

And another disturbed commuter added a tweet of complain:

Finally, at 8:08pm SMRT informed that the door fault was cleared, and repeated it at 8:16pm:

And at 8:23pm SMRT tweeted that the service on NSL had resumed normally:

On another line, Maggie Teo posted on a Facebook page that the North East Line was delayed more than 25 minutes, however TOC did not find other information on this delay:

Maggie Teo wrote: Due to signalling fault as of now north east line is delayed more than 25 mins during peak hours again.
