There were train service disruption occurred this morning along the East West Line and North East Line, with no explanation from the Singapore Mass Rapid Transport.

At 9:06 Selina C tweeted there was a train delay on EWL while commenting about the new folded train seats:

Other commuters also tweeted complain to the SMRT:

Around 12pm Kenneth Tan questioned the reasons for havoc and confusion happened on North East Line at Sengkang and Punggol direction:

A post on TATA SMRT Facebook from Jacquelyn R Lim gives more information on what happened at Sengkang and Punggol, but to repeat, there was no official announcement from SMRT explaining the reasons of the odd behaviour:

Jacquelyn R Lim 1 hr:

Some kind of disruption at Punggol/ Sengkang. One train alighted passengers but did not let ppl board from SK to Punggol. Then another train came from town towards Punggol, but once stop at Sengkang it U turn back to Harbourfront. Some passengers who missed the conflicting announcements panic and had to get off at Buangkok, one stop farther then track back to Punggol again.

Train usually 3mins, board show 5mins interval before this hoo-ha.
