Normal but slow train services on NSL this morning; Delay on DTL
Following their tweet last night that there will be no train service between Joo Koon and Tuas Link this morning (Thursday, 16 Nov), the Singapore Mass Rapid Transport (SMRT) repeated its post this morning at 4:43am:
[EWL]:Train svc btwn #JooKoon & #TuasLink is suspended. Free regular & bridging bus svcs are available btwn #JooKoon & #TuasLink all day.
— SMRT Corporation (@SMRT_Singapore) November 15, 2017
It added that the train service on the North South Line (NSL) is running normally:
[NSL]: Train service on the NSL is running normally.

At 7:23a, a commuter confirms SMRT’s post with her experience from Admiralty to Yio Chu Kang:
07:22- Train svcs on NSL as per normal. Board at Admiralty stn and nw at YioChuKang stn. So far, smooth journey. #crossfinger #SMRTBreakdowns @SMRT_Singapore

And other commuters also tweeted their inputs as well:
Travelling smoothly. But the interval time (NSL) is slightly longer. @SMRT_Singapore

Got on at admiralty towards city area. So far so good. Don't want to jinx but looks like everybody (even me) is waiting for updates.

However at 7:40, a post shared that it was crowded at Ang Mo Kio towards Southbound:

At Down Town Line (DTL) however, commuters gave feedback that possible issues with the train service. (But note that DTL is run by SBS transit)

Some people didn’t know that DTL is not run by SMRT but the tweets showed they have problems on the line:
@SMRT_Singapore The Downtown Line is not moving at Tan Kah Kee station. What’s going on?

What’s going on at DTL? Train got terminated at Botanic Gardens for no further announcement?

Walked to EWL and saw it was disrupted. Took DTL and heard ”this train will be delayed”. #smrt needs a change in management

Wow holy shit riding the dtl was zipper squeezy for once
— IZU (@Averutia) November 16, 2017
At 9.17am, DTL is reported to be still experiencing slow service:
@SMRT_Singapore downtown line was moving slower than usual. We don't mind that but at least an announcement would be good. Everyone was looking around like lost sheeps
— DenieceLife (@DenieceLife) November 16, 2017
In the meantime, commuters shared that NSL was still normal:
Boarded at 7:28. It's 7:50 and we're otw to Bishan. #SMRT #NSL so far so good
— Ba-doodles (@ba_doodles) November 15, 2017
#smrt #train travel from ang mo kio toward toa payoh is normal
— Webster (@websterlkc) November 16, 2017
But commuters at certain stops along NSL had different experiences, one commuter pointed out that there is a train fault at Novena with the train stopping at the station:

Train fault at Toa Payoh, sighpie. Train took a sudden stop and everyone in the train nearly fall due to the impact. And now we are all stuck inside. And you say it’s running normally?
— Jacqueline Liew (@letgomylove) November 16, 2017
Train service is stopped at Novena due to a train fault. What is happening @SMRT_Singapore & what have you been doing to fix the situation? #smrtfail #imgonnabelateforwork #thankssmrt
