Man arrested in series of milk powder thefts

Singapore Police Force (SPF) announced on Tuesday (21 March) that a 34-year-old man has been arrested for his suspected involvement in a series of milk powder thefts.
Earlier this month, the Police said they received a report that 24 tins of milk powder had been stolen from a supermarket along Turf Club Road.
After extensive investigations by officers from the Tanglin Police Division, the suspect was arrested at Sixth Avenue on Monday.
Further investigations revealed that the suspect is believed to have been involved in previous cases of milk powder theft reported islandwide.
Police seized about 200 tins of milk powder with an estimated value of more than S$10,000 from the suspect’s residence.
The suspect will be charged on Wednesday. If convicted, he could be jailed for up to seven years, and is also liable to be fined.
If convicted of theft in dwelling, the suspect could be jailed for up to seven years and is also liable to be fined.
