The Housing & Development Board (HDB) launched 4,056 Build-To-Order (BTO) flats in Punggol, Clementi and Tampines on Tuesday (14 Feb), HDB announced on its press release.
These flats are in six projects: Waterway Sunrise II, Northshore Cove in Punggol, Tampines GreenBloom, Tampines GreenFlora, Clementi NorthArc, and Clementi Peaks.
They are the first portion of 17,000 flats to be launched in 2017 as announced by National Development Minister Lawrence Wong, to ease waiting times for home-buyers – especially young couples looking for BTO units.

Eligible first-timer families can get up to S$80,000 in housing grants, comprising the Additional CPF Housing Grant and the Special CPF Housing Grant. With these grants, for instance, buyers of two-room Flexi, three-room flats could pay as little as $50,00 and $88,000 respectively.
Families on the Fresh Start Housing Scheme (Fresh Start) can also apply for a two-room Flexi flat for the first time under this exercise. The scheme was launched on 1 December last year to help second-timer families with young children who are staying in a public rental flat to own a flat again.

Applications for the new flats in this exercise are open till 20 February 2017, 11:59pm, “So there’s no need to rush,” HDB said.
The applications could be submitted online on the HDB InfoWEB.
HDB informed that in May, it will offer 4,600 flats in Bidadari, Geylang, Woodlands and Yishun, while around 3,000 balance flats will be offered in a concurrent Sale of Balance Flats Exercise.
HDB also informed that a project in Woodlands, which was planned for launch in February, has been delayed. In the statement, HDB said: “Due to the site conditions, further review is needed to better integrate it with surrounding developments. The project will be launched after the review is completed.”
