Residents of Block 147 Toa Payoh Lorong 2 queue for water due to water pump defect
Due to a water pump defect, residents who live at Block 147 Toa Payoh Lorong 2 had to went through nearly four hours without water on Monday (13 February) evening.
A source, Joel Goh, told Today that as the water outage started at around 5.30pm and ended at around 9.10pm, the residents had to go to a nearby multi-purpose hall. They carried water buckets from their homes and collected water there.
Saktiandi Supaat, MP for Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC, told Today that the defect affected the starter pump in the pump room at the ground floor of the block, adding that the town council provided water from an alternative source in the linkhall to residents during this period of time.
He stated that the defective pump will be replaced early Tuesday morning.
As a temporary measure, he noted that water from the rooftop water tanks are currently being channelled to residents’ homes via a bypass route.
