Fire incident at two-storey house along Stirling Road

A fire incident happened at 57 Stirling Road about 4:50pm yesterday (29 Jan).
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was alerted to the fire and immediately dispatched 2 fire engines, 1 Red Rhino, 2 fire bikes, 1 support vehicle and an ambulance to the location.
Firefighters used 4 water jets in two simultaneous-attacks at the front and rear of the house to extinguish the blaze, which pervaded the contents of both floors of the two-storey terrace house.
As stated on its Facebook, SCDF said that the fire was prevented by its officers from spreading to the adjacent houses and extinguished within half an hour.

The cause of fire is being investigated, SCDF said yesterday.
Officers from SCDF evacuated 12 residents from adjacent house, including an elderly bedridden woman. There were no reported injuries as a result of the fire.
