Singapore Mass Rapid Transit (SMRT) announced on Wednesday (2 November) afternoon that there was no train service on its East-West Line (EWL) from Queenstown to Outram Park due to a train fault. It also said that the service was estimated to resume on 6.10pm.
It also said that there are free regular bus services available.
At 6.10pm, SMRT announced that services are progressively back to normal.

However, commuters responded to SMRT’s announcement by stating that services have not resumed as it stated.
This disruption is the second today as Circle Line (CCL) had another intermittent signalling fault in the morning during peak hour causing commuters to wait for more than an hour.
Commuters who were angered by the issue took to social media of their complaints.
One of the Twitter users, Zulkarnain Zainiddin, said that he got stuck on both of the disruption.
