Commuters commented that there has not been any announcement from the Singapore Mass Rapid Transit (SMRT) regarding the disruption.

One commuter wrote that SMRT said 4 minutes additional travelling time was needed. However, he had to wait for 30 minutes before he was able to get into train.

Another wrote that three trains passed by, however, he still was not able to get onboard.

Jackson Teo wrote on his Facebok page, “Train moving at low speed below 10km/h afterward the train PA System announced that train is down and is unable to continue its journey, passengers onboard were asked to alight back at Jurong East Platform F and wait for the next train at Platform C, while train will slowly drive back to Jurong East.”

This is the third time this month that EWL experienced service disruption.

Last Tuesday (18 October), a track fault between Tanah Merah and Bugis stations caused delays of up to 20 minutes.

On Thursday (21 October), another track fault occurred during morning rush hours between Queenstown and Jurong East.
