Paralympians went on a celebratory parade in a fleet of supercars

Nine of the Paralympians arrived home on Wednesday (21 September) at around 5.45 am by Singapore Airline.

Yip Pin Xiu brought two golden medals as she won the 100m and 50m backstroke S2 event with a world record. While Theresa Goh brought home a bronze medal for finishing in third place in the women’s SB4 100m breaststroke final.

TeamSG Wheelchair Racer, Norsilawati Binte Sa’at also made it to the final  in the Women’s 100m (T52). Another Paralympian who made it to the final was TeamSG Equestrian Laurentia Tan who competed in the Individual Freestyle Test Grade 1A.

Today (24 September), they went on a celebratory parade. They were parading around town in a fleet of supercars. The route was from the ActiveSG Sengkang Sports Centre to the VivoCity mall. It was started at 9 am to 2.30 pm with one pit stop in between, National Library at Victoria Street.

The Paralympians kickstarted at Sengkang Sport Centre where more than 100 supporters were waiting to meet the athletes.

Supporters were standing alongside the roads to congratulate the Paralympians who have done Singapore proud.
