Metal nut found in King’s Potong Ice-cream led to voluntary recall of products

On 23 August The Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority (AVA) made a media statement on receiving feedback from a member of the public on 18 August 2016 regarding a metal nut found in a bar of “King’s Potong Red Bean Ice Confection”.

AVA stated that to ensure food safety, it has been working with the importer to conduct further investigation on the matter.

As a precautionary measure, the importer has voluntarily recalled “King’s Ice Confection” products with expiry dates before 22 July 2018 while investigations are ongoing. Consumers who have purchased the products are advised not to consume it.
