“IN REMEMBRANCE OF JBJ”

~from: The organising committee of  ‘In remembrance of JBJ’~

The late JBJ worked tirelessly and selflessly to represent the people of Singapore, in Parliament and outside it. He had great hopes and aspirations for Singapore and Singaporeans. A humble man, he left behind a lasting legacy – he cared.

Three years have passed since JBJ passed away on 30 September 2008. It is also 30 years since his historic win in the Anson constituency by-election on 31 October 1981, making him the first member of an opposition party in Singapore to enter Parliament.

A group of friends (Friends of JBJ) decided to remember him through an event to celebrate the legend – ‘In remembrance of JBJ’:

Date: Saturday, 22 October 2011
Time: 2.30 pm – 6 pm
Venue: Swatow Restaurant (Fortu’nate @ Blk 181 Toa Payoh Lorong 4, #02-02)
Dress: Code: Smart Casual
Price: $30.00 per person or $300.00 per table of 10
Payment: To be made in cash against delivery of tickets

Friends of JBJ have indicated that any surplus funds from the event will go towards funding the Reform Party’s 5-Year Plan in West Coast GRC, with a part reserved for a new JBJ Foundation.
