陈清木:希望政府能够采取审慎的步骤来缓解个人和企业所面对的困境

陈清木医生,前进党秘书长,2021新年致辞

新的一年将至。弃旧迎新之际,我回顾过去一年的得失,喜见新加坡政坛继续蓬勃发展,选民也趋向成熟。但令我更感欣慰的是有许多来自不同领域的杰出才俊,不畏强权挺身而出,选择与我并肩参加2020年的大选。

在2020年,国人已经觉醒,意识到如果政府能够更富有同情心,政策制定和实施时更具透明度及更好奉行问责制,那新加坡的国家发展将会更美好。

新加坡已经跟40年前我初入政坛时不可同日而语。今天,精英主义横行,政治领袖任人唯亲,国人要在事业和生活中取得成功,靠的不单只是努力和能力,更需要政治意识的正确性。这发展趋势令人堪忧,我们必需认真对待,并应致力改变此趋势。

前进党的党员和支持者挺身而出,就是为了要塑造一个更美好的新加坡,更平等的社会。

2020年对所有人来说都是艰苦的一年,我们目前正经历着立国以来最严重的经济衰退。无论是哪个行业,都因这次的经济下滑收到冲击。 我们当中有些人失去了工作, 也有些人感染了冠状病毒。大家都寄望新的一年能为国家经济注入新的气象。

深受其害的不只是新加坡。全世界都因冠状病毒的肆虐而陷入停滞。这病毒是无形的,各国政府能做的就只能是通过封城或行动限制令来阻止它的快速传播。代价是经济发展因而停顿,许多社区与人民也因此陷入经济困境。

新加坡既没有对冠状病毒的免疫力,也不能幸免于因疫情肆虐所带来的经济冲击。 许多新加坡人已经跌至贫困线下,他们因为政府不愿设定明确的贫困线,未能及时受到经济援助。

所幸的是,下来疫苗接种计划的全面开展,能为疫情的有效控制带来一丝希望。 但是它所能做的也就只是阻止病毒的传播。 我们仍然需要重建经济,并帮助失业的国人进行再培训和再技能化,使国家经济能恢复疫情前的荣景。

要让新加坡重新站起来,靠的不能仅仅是一个愿望,更需要决心和毅力。同时也需要各领域所有大小企业的精干人才,为国人创造更多的优质就业机会。

前进党同国人一样,为国家领导层越来越多是军队的前将领而感到深切担忧。他们只有军队纪律管理的单薄经验,不熟悉企业在面对市场竞争中所需要的灵活操作。因为他们的背景单一,遇到问题时,更不能以多方视角去探讨问题,寻求解决方法。

而这执政党的短处也是前进党最亮眼的长处。 我们汇集了各领域的专才,通过他们的才能,前进党有信心能帮助陷入困境的经济朝正确的长期方向发展。在明年的国会预算辩论中, 您将会从前进党非选区议员的审议中听到我们对各经济领域发展的深入见解。

我国有强大的储备,我们希望政府能够采取审慎的步骤,利用这些储备缓解个人和企业所面对的困境。

前进党与您风雨同舟,在此艰难时刻,我们与您肩并肩站在一起。 我无时无刻都在思考如何能把新加坡建设的更好,让国人从新过上美好的生活。

最后,请允许我用一警言结束这次2020 年最后一次的谈话。我谨警惕大家,随时防备变异的冠状病毒卷土从来。 因此,当我们出门在外时,请继续维持良好的卫生习惯,保持安全距离并戴好口罩, 疫情才有望在短期内逐渐消退。

我希望2021是充满机遇的一年,能为大家带来幸福,健康和新希望。让我们一起迎接新的一年,并希望在来年能够看到政府在执政时,表现更大的透明度和更严明的问责制。
