疫情时禁锢三客工约40天 公司经理被罚9千元
疫情期间将三名客工禁锢在一间房内约40天，公司经理被罚款9千元。
被告彭桐兴（译音，Shaun Pang Tong Heng），日前因涉嫌于5月至6月期间，三名客工禁锢在一间房内约40天，被控三项非法禁锢控状，近日已认罪，其余控状也将会在下判时一并纳入考量。
《海峡时报》报道，三名印度籍客工，于5月12日至15日首次被禁锢，接下来则是长达五周的禁锢，从5月19日至6月26日。
至于禁锢客工的原因，被告称客工在疫情期间，曾离开住处欲到外面购买酒，而且其中一名客工也非法驾驶，于是被告将客工们视为“搞事”。而对于禁锢的行为，被告也非常懊悔。
根据庭上指出，三人被禁锢在一间干净、有厕所和无线网络的房间内，同时也会定时定点送餐和水。
尽管如此，控方认为这不构成禁锢客工的正当理由，事发当下应该选择报警处理。
非法禁锢罪一经定罪，将可被判处最高三年监禁和罚款。
