【选举】生活开销增成人民痛处 工人党:调高消费税让国人太沉重

在最新工人党铁锤秀(The Hammer Show)网络直播节目中,后港单选区工人党候选人陈立峰,在政纲中提到高消费一事表示,尽管有人主张高消费生活是源于通货膨胀,但经数据显示,自2014至2019年,有三项显而易见的开销提高,即教育、食物和医疗费用。

不仅如此,他也提到尽管国人一直缴付高额税收,但仍无法抵消生活开支,他以去年交通费的大幅度提高为例,并指出原交通部长许文远甚至暗示国人可能需要再给付更多交通费。此外,除了交通费,他也提醒国人水费很有可能在未来会提高。

陈立峰指出在种种的开销下,国人已然超出负荷,尤其是上有高堂,下有妻小的夹心阶层。

另一方面,他也忆述,自2018年时,原总理李显龙承诺要缓解人民的生活开销,但他也曾指出,“每个人都应该守护自己的荷包”,呼吁人民应该省水省电,成为精明的消费者。

对此,陈立峰说,在各项基本消费的提高下,人民难以开源节流,而且他也提醒人民未来很有可能将会再度提高消费税。

因此,陈立峰表示,工人党将会尽可能为人民开源节流,不随意提高消费税。与此同时,针对弱势群体如年长者或身心障碍者,理应获得交通免费的待遇,另外,陈立峰也质问政府大幅度提高水费的动机。

何挺儒亦回应,生活开销一直都是人民的痛处,尤其对于年轻家庭,因为高生活开销的影响,导致他们对于生孩子产生顾虑。

育儿开销大   年轻夫妇吃不消

工人党成员陈俊元也分享自身经验,表示如今对于新生儿的开销相当大,各类基本开销如奶粉、尿布等都非常昂贵,使许多年轻夫妇承受沉重的开销,甚至让年轻人对于建立新家庭而感到犹豫。

蔡庆威补充,不仅是针对育儿的直接开销,还有生活中林林总总的间接开销导致年轻夫妻的生活成本加剧。

针对人民行动党的宣言,蔡庆威坦言,对于宣言内容而感到疑惑,因为口头上宣称将会减低生活成本,但从人民行动当的各种行为,如提高消费税,都让他很疑惑。

对此,他质问是否真的在人民生活负担过重的情况下,仍然需要提高消费税。
