电动滑板车事故跌三成 蓝彬明：加快完成本土脚踏车道网络
交通部兼卫生部高级政务部长蓝彬明医生今日（6日）在国会中表示，将加快完成新加坡的脚踏车道网络。
自禁令上路以来，脚踏车道车道的拓展一直备受关注，他透露，目前正与财政部商讨增加拨款，惟暂未有更具体说明。
蓝彬明在国会中回答三名议员，质询有关个人代步工具的问题。他透露自去年11月5日的禁令以来，由电动滑板车所造成的意外以下跌了三成。
蓝彬明曾表示，在未来几年内，将三倍扩张脚踏车道，让被禁止上人行道的电动滑板车有更多的空间骑车。陆交局计划将在2025年，放眼脚车道扩大至750公里，到2030年扩大至1300公里。
加快建立自行车道网络，是为了扩大电动滑板车的行驶空间，目前他们仅能在440公里的脚踏车到合法使用。
“我们将加快脚步，建设至1300公里的脚踏车道，目前正积极与建屋局、国家公园管理局以及当地的市镇会调整建工时间”，蓝彬明指出。
他也透露将在来临的交通部年度财政预算案辩论，发表更多细节。
自禁令上路以来，陆交局已发出至少300张的传票给电动滑板车骑士。陆交局也提醒民众，自2020年1月1日开始，如若在人行道上骑电动滑板车，实属违法行为，违法者可被处以最高2000元的罚款，或被判入狱三个月，或两者兼施。
为了配合实施禁止电动滑板车在行人道上行驶的禁令，陆路交通管理局（LTA）在行人道上增加了其他标记，以方便电动滑板车骑士区别车道。
但禁令上路后也引起许多人的不满，尤其是送餐员的不满，他们称禁令的实施将会影响他们送餐的时间，政府随后推出700万元的以旧换新援助计划，以帮助送餐员们在无需额外付费下，将电动滑板车转换为电动脚车，但似乎无法平息他们的愤怒。
