With the right credit card, Singaporeans get access to movie ticket promotions at Golden Village, Shaw Theatres, and Cathay Cineplexes.

The best things in life are free, but getting discounts for indulging in your favourite hobbies isn’t too bad either. The next time you go to the movies, remember to bring your credit card.

These credit card movie ticket promotions will make your outing just a little more picture perfect.

The following offers are valid until 31 December 2016. We’ll be updating this list as we come across new movie discounts, so subscribe to our newsletter to be in the know!

Mastercard Movie Promotions at Cinemas Islandwide

If you own a Mastercard credit card, you can enjoy savings every time you go to the movies.

From Mondays to Thursdays, tickets will cost you only S$8 each. On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, Public Holidays and their eves, tickets cost S$10.50 each.

Also, if you buy any Popcorn Combo Set, you’ll enjoy S$1 off.

Maximum Tickets: 10 per cardmember.

For Further Savings…Boost your savings even further with the ANZ Optimum World Mastercard, which lets you earn 5% cash rebate on dining and leisure spend (cinemas included).

Just make sure you’ve selected the Dining and Leisure category as your rebate category for the quarter.

Golden Village Promotion with DBS and POSB Cards

Golden Village offers discounts on movie tickets to anyone holding a DBS or POSB credit card.

For any non-3D movie screening, you can enjoy a straight-up S$1 off per ticket, all day, everyday.

If you insist on watching your on-screen idols with a serving of slight brain damage, you’re in luck – you’ll get a S$1.50 discount per 3D movie ticket, but only for screenings on regular days.

Gold Class tickets are available with a S$3 discount (but only on Mondays to Wednesdays, excluding Public Holidays and their eves); that’s a whole 10% off the regular price of S$29!

And, if you buy at least two tickets, you can get a “Large popcorn and 2 regular Cokes” combo for just S$9.

Maximum Tickets: none.

For Further Savings…We recommend bringing along the DBS Altitude Visa Signature Card, which gives you 1.2 miles for every S$1 spent locally.

In case you feel inspired to book a trip overseas after watching the latest Nicholas Sparks film, the DBS Altitude Visa Signature Card will also give you 3 miles for every S$1 spent on online bookings for flights and accommodation.

Shaw Cinema Promotion with OCBC Cards

At Shaw Cinema, OCBC credit or debit card holders can enjoy S$1 off per 2D movie ticket all week.

There are also combo packages available that include movie tickets, popcorn, 3D glasses and drinks at preferential rates.

Take Note of the Terms and Conditions

Regular moviegoers will no doubt appreciate the savings to be had from these credit card offers. However, do note that there are some terms and conditions that apply to their use.

For a start, there are limits on how many tickets may be purchased per card, per day (as we’ve noted above).

You’ll also have to make the bookings in person at the box office since these promotions aren’t available for online, telephone or kiosk bookings.

Unless otherwise stated, the discounted rates won’t be available on screenings during festivals, marathons or other special occasions, or at specialty halls.

You also won’t be able to combine them with other discounts, promotions or offers. And as with many other credit card promotions in Singapore, do be aware that other terms and conditions may apply, and that the cinema may decide to revise or withdraw the offer at their discretion.
