Nadine Yap: Will be speaking up even if not in parliament
When Ms Nadine Yap was introduced weeks ago as a slated candidate for Democratic Progressive Party in the Bishan-Toa Payoh Team, voters at the GRC were impressed with her eloquency and credentials.

However, it is now clear that Ms Yap will likely not be standing for election, with the recent announcement of confirmed candidates for Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC fielded by the alliance between DPP and the Singapore People’s Party.
Undeterred, Ms Yap told TOC that she will continue to contribute her perspectives and ideas, working with the party and constituents to come up with alternatives.
“I am not a quiet person,” she said. “You will hear my voice. It may not be in Parliament but I will be speaking up. And I will be speaking up not just randomly in public but I will be trying to bring up the issues specifically will people who also make a difference in different parts of society.”
