印尼于4月17日迎来最大规模的选举，超過24万5000名候选人角逐议席，但选举尘埃落定后，也意味着有将近20万人会败选，使得他们失去工作及背上庞大债务。 身心俱疲，生活上面临极大的压力，这些败选者可能寻求宗教及医疗治疗，抚慰心灵。 在印尼，候选人在竞选期间需自行负担竞选开销，并未获得财务支援。然而，在投入大量金钱与时间后，却未必能如预期获胜，以致他们陷入败选及面临庞大债务的窘境。 压力不堪负荷，靠宗教求慰籍 候选人之一的阿都拉曼（Yayat Abdurahman译音）说道：“一开始时，我是保持乐观及有信心的，我一直认为我必须在这场竞选中获得更多的票数赢得席位，但后来，我开始疑惑了(是否参选)。” 如同其他败选者，他并未在这场竞选中获得胜选。 位于西爪哇的井里汶市，以伊斯兰信仰为主的治疗中心（Islamic Healing Centre），也是许多败选人士寻求慰籍之地。主任乌江（Ujang Busthomi）指出，这些人都经历了巨大压力，甚至失眠，因为他们已经负债，对于未来需要偿还的债务不知所措。 治疗期间，会由中心的神职人员会有净化仪式，为他们淋上浸泡花朵的圣水，祈求未来顺利平安。…
