建国总理李光耀因病去世, 享年91岁
新加坡总理公署23日公告，建国总理李光耀在当天的凌晨3时18分点去世，享年91岁。
李显龙总理在周一早上8点通过电台和电视台，以马来语、华语以及英语向全国人民直播演说，为他父亲的逝世致哀。
“在这悲痛的时刻，我们要把李先生的贡献铭记在心。悼念他最好的方式就是继续发扬他的爱国精神，团结一致，让这个他付出毕生精力建立的新加坡，继续繁荣稳定。”
“建国总理李光耀先生，请您安息吧!”
李光耀今年2月5日因感染严重肺疾入院，此后一直在新加坡中央医院接受治疗，因感染病情的严重性，医院以机械通气和抗生素的注射来稳定李光耀的病情。
李显龙已宣布星期一（23日）至星期日（29日）为全国哀悼期，这期间所有政府建筑将降半旗，表达对李光耀的敬意。
李光耀的灵柩将于3月25日至28日停放在新加坡国会大厦，供公众瞻仰；新加坡也将于29日在新加坡国立大学文化中心，为李光耀举行国葬，之后举行私人火葬仪式。
此期间，官方也在分布于新加坡各区的18个民众俱乐部和社区场所设立哀悼场所，让公众献上最后敬意。
29日当天，居民也可在这些社区地点观看国葬的电视现场直播。
