Card payments have overtaken cash to become the most-used payment method in Singapore, according to Visa’s Consumer Payment Attitudes Study. Over 95% of Singapore consumers prefer using credit or debit cards, with contactless cards being the preferred payment method for a majority of categories including convenience store purchases, retail shopping, and public transport. Visa cards’ contactless payment penetration in Singapore has now crossed 95%, with mobile contactless payments and QR code payments also gaining popularity among Singapore consumers.
