GE2025 Results: WP retains Aljunied GRC with 59.68% of the vote

WP’s five-member team retained Aljunied GRC on 3 May with 59.68% of the vote, edging out PAP’s 40.32%. Of 132,110 valid votes, WP won 78,847 and PAP 53,263. Leader of the Opposition Pritam Singh reaffirmed WP’s commitment to serve all residents equally, continuing its hold on Aljunied since 2011.

SINGAPORE: On 3 May 2025, Aljunied GRC was officially called for the Workers’ Party (WP), whose five-member team secured 59.68% of the vote, defeating the People’s Action Party (PAP) team, which garnered 40.32%.

This result closely mirrors WP’s 2020 performance, when it won Aljunied with 59.93% of the vote.

Of 132,110 valid votes cast, WP received 78,847 and PAP 53,263.

The elected MPs are Leader of the Opposition Pritam Singh, 48; Sylvia Lim, 60; Gerald Giam, 47; Fadli Fawzi, 44—who contested Marine Parade GRC in 2020—and newcomer Kenneth Tiong, 36.

The PAP slate was led by Chan Hui Yuh, 48, contesting Aljunied for a second time, with newcomers Faisal Abdul Aziz, 37; Adrian Ang, 42; Jagathishwaran Rajo, 37; and Daniel Liu, 40.

At Serangoon Stadium, Mr Singh thanked supporters, saying: “Your support has been crucial in achieving and working towards a more balanced Parliament. That work continues. As promised, we serve everyone equally, and I look forward to making Aljunied our best home yet.”

WP first won Aljunied GRC in 2011, marking the first time an opposition party captured a GRC since its introduction in 1988.
