GE2025: PAP’s Vivian Balakrishnan leads team to 79.29% win in Holland-Bukit Timah GRC

Holland-Bukit Timah GRC was called on 4 May for PAP’s Vivian Balakrishnan-led team, which won 79.29% of the vote against RDU’s 20.71%. Of 108,945 valid votes, PAP took 86,384 and RDU 22,561. The GRC, home to 123,225 voters and a PAP stronghold, saw a significant rise in vote share from 66.36% in GE2020.

SINGAPORE: On 4 May 2025, Holland-Bukit Timah GRC was officially called for the People’s Action Party’s four-member team led by Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan, which secured 79.29% of the vote.

The PAP team defeated Red Dot United (RDU), which garnered 20.71%.

Joining Dr Balakrishnan were Senior Minister of State Sim Ann, Deputy Speaker Christopher de Souza, and MP Edward Chia.

RDU fielded financial consultant Fazli Talip alongside three newcomers: music teacher Emily Woo, engineer Sharad Kumar, and operations manager Nizar Subair.

Of 108,945 valid votes cast, PAP received 86,384 and RDU 22,561.

Holland-Bukit Timah GRC, with 123,225 registered voters, remains a stronghold for the ruling party, known for its concentration of landed properties and private condominiums.

In GE2020, the PAP won 66.36% of the vote in the same GRC against the Singapore Democratic Party (SDP).
