Police investigating incident of man allegedly urinating at Tanah Merah MRT station
Police are investigating a man seen urinating at Tanah Merah MRT station in Singapore, just days after a similar incident at Outram Park MRT station.
SMRT confirmed a police report was filed and called the act a health risk.

SINGAPORE: Singapore police are investigating a man caught on video urinating at Tanah Merah MRT station.
The incident, which gained attention on social media, comes shortly after another man was charged for a similar offence at Outram Park MRT station.
The latest video, shared across several social media platforms, shows a man in a red T-shirt and black trousers standing near a platform screen door.
He is seen checking his surroundings before fleeing when he realises he is being watched.
The date and time of the Tanah Merah incident remain unclear.
SMRT Trains president Lam Sheau Kai condemned such acts, stating they deface public spaces and pose significant health risks to commuters.
He confirmed that a police report has been lodged and that the transport operator is assisting authorities in their investigations.
This incident follows another case involving 41-year-old Chinese national Li Guorui, who was caught on video urinating on an escalator handrail at Outram Park MRT station on 10 January.
Li was charged in court on 13 January with causing annoyance to the public.
According to a post on the Complaint Singapore Facebook page by netizen Stella Kee, the earlier incident occurred near Exit 3 of the MRT station.
She reported that her friend witnessed a man contaminating an escalator handrail with urine.
“Upon closer inspection, the entire handrail of the escalator was contaminated with his urine,” said Kee.
Li is expected to plead guilty on 14 January.
If convicted of causing annoyance to the public, he could face up to three months in jail, a fine of up to S$2,000, or both.
