The three 2023 Presidential Election contenders — Tan Kin Lian, Ng Kok Song, and Tharman Shanmugaratnam—are poised for the live CNA-hosted Singapore Presidential Forum on Monday (28 Aug) at 9 p.m.
This event, termed a “forum” by CNA, is likely the sole live debate of the PE 2023 campaign.
SINGAPORE: Three prominent contenders in the 2023 Presidential Election (PE2023) are set to participate in the live Singapore Presidential Forum hosted by Mediacorp CNA.
This significant event is scheduled for Monday (28 Aug) at 9 p.m.
The trio of Presidential contenders comprises distinguished individuals: Mr Ng Kok Song (75), the former GIC investment chief; Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam (66), a former senior minister of the People’s Action Party; and Mr Tan Kin Lian (75), the former NTUC Income chief.
The forum will also be accessible through live streaming on CNA’s YouTube and Facebook channels, and a rebroadcast is planned on Channel 5 on Tuesday.
While this event is labelled as a “forum” by CNA, it is likely to be the inaugural and sole live debate during the PE 2023 campaign period.
Though the specific topics of the forum have yet to be disclosed, voters can anticipate witnessing the three contenders engaging in thoughtful discussions about matters pertinent to Singaporeans.
These discussions may encompass their visions for the future of the city-state, their strategies for safeguarding Singapore’s reserves, and their approaches to representing Singapore’s best interests.
The first “Presidential Candidate Broadcast” was televised on 24 August, and the second “Presidential Candidate Broadcast” will be aired on coming Wednesday (30 Aug).
