Spotify listeners face price adjustment for premium subscriptions
Spotify has announced a global increase in subscription prices to sustain innovation and continue delivering value to users and artists. Affected subscribers will receive personalized emails detailing changes, with existing customers given a one-month grace period before new prices take effect.
UNITED STATES: Spotify, the popular music streaming service, recently made a significant announcement regarding a global subscription price increase.
In a bold move, the company communicated this news through its official website.
In their official statement, Spotify stated, “So that we can keep innovating, we are changing our premium prices across a number of markets around the world. These updates will help us continue to deliver value to fans and artists on our platform.”
Starting Monday (24 Jul), subscribers will be receiving an informative email detailing the implications for their accounts.
Spotify assured that all subscribers affected by the price increase will receive personalized emails. Existing customers will be granted a generous one-month grace period before the new prices take effect.
For devoted users of the Spotify Premium package, expect to receive an email notification along with a two-month grace period to embrace the new pricing, unless the customer cancels before the grace period ends.
According to the official statement via the Spotify newsroom, the adjusted price in the US for Premium Individual price will be US $ 10.99, Premium Duo at $ 14.99, Premium Family at $ 16.99, and Premium Student at $ 5.99.
The price increase will affect various countries, including Andorra, Albania, Argentina, Austria, Australia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Belgium, Bulgaria, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cyprus, Denmark, Ecuador, Estonia, Spain, Finland, France, United Kingdom, Greece, Guatemala, Hongkong, Croatia, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Iceland, Italy, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Latvia, Monaco, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Malta, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Peru, Portugal, Serbia, Sweden, Singapore, Slovenia, Slovakia, San Marino, Thailand, Türkiye, United States, and Kosovo.
Spotify’s decision to increase subscription prices isn’t all that surprising, due to Apple Music having raised its subscription price by $ 1 to $ 10.99 per month or $ 109 per year back in October.
Moreover, Amazon Music and Youtube Music have also recently joined the trend by increasing their standard subscription rate to $10.99 per month.
Spotify’s decision to adjust their prices showcases their commitment to continuous innovation, ensuring a harmonious experience for both users and artists alike.
