DOHA, QATAR — Singapore’s Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security Teo Chee Hean and Minister of Home Affairs and Law K. Shanmugam are now in Qatar, attending the World Cup 2022 held in Qatar.

Just last Saturday, Mr Teo shared a photo of the two ministers seated at the VIP gallery on his Facebook.

“An exciting quarter-final match. Glad to see football fans from around the world enjoying themselves in Doha.” wrote Mr Teo as a caption to the photo.

According to local media, Peninsula, Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Interior H E Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani met up with Mr Teo and Mr Shanmugam at the Lusail Stadium on Friday (9 Dec).

It wrote that the two Singaporean ministers are visiting Qatar to attend the World Cup matches.

Peninsula further reported that Mr Teo congratulated the government and people of Qatar during the meeting with the Qatar PM for the successful organisation of the World Cup, expressing his wishes for success to Qatar in the remaining tournament competitions and wishing the competing teams good luck.

During the meeting, they discussed relations between the two countries and ways to enhance and develop them, in addition to a number of issues and developments of common concern.
