MOH reports 13th COVID-19 death in August; death toll at 50

The Ministry of Health (MOH) in its daily update on Monday (23 Aug) has reported another case of death from complications due to COVID-19 infection.

Case 67375, an unvaccinated 86 year-old female Singaporean, is said to have passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection on Monday.

“Her case was first reported on 2 August. She had been admitted to Changi General Hospital on 23 July for an unrelated medical condition, and tested negative for COVID-19 during admission and again on 29 July,” said MOH.

“She was detected when she was tested on 2 August as she had been identified as a close contact of a patient who was a confirmed case. She had not been vaccinated against COVID-19, and had a history of cancer and hypertension,” the Ministry added.

In August alone, 13 individuals have passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection so far. The previous cases were:

  1. 1 Aug: A 34-year-old Ukrainian man
  2. 2 Aug: A 58-year-old Singaporean woman
  3. 4 Aug: A 79-year-old Singaporean man
  4. 5 Aug: A 63-year-old Singaporean man
  5. 7 Aug: A 80-year-old Singaporean woman
  6. 11 Aug: A 69-year-old Singaporean man
  7. 13 Aug:  A 84-year-old Singaporean man
  8. 16 Aug: A 64-year-old Singaporean man
  9. 17 Aug: A 90-year-old Singaporean man
  10. 19 Aug: A 82-year-old Singaporean man
  11. 21 Aug: A 91-year-old Permanent Resident woman
  12. 22 Aug: A 87-year-old Singaporean man

In total, Singapore’s COVID-19 death toll has reached 50.
