DBS posted a message on its Facebook page today (25 May) clarifying that the person, Ms Sonal Wadde, mentioned in an article from The Independent Singapore (TISG), is presently not a DBS staff.

DBS said she was previously engaged as a contract employee through a third-party vendor from June to December 2019.

“We hold our employees to the highest standards of conduct, both in person and online. DBS is fully committed to supporting the national effort to contain the spread of Covid-19,” DBS added.

DBS’ posted its reply in response to a TISG article which was also published today describing what Ms Wadde posted on her Facebook page.

Ms Wadde, who has contracted COVID-19, said she arrived in Singapore via Nepal after staying there for 15 days. She said she “got infected in SG most probably on (sic) Changi Airport”. She said her pre-departure COVID-19 test as well as the on-arrival test were negative. She said she felt “more secure” back home in India.

TISG then did a check on LinkedIn which showed that Ms Wadde “has been a Test Analyst at DBS Singapore since 2019”. The LinkedIn profile is no longer accessible at the time of this article’s publication.

TISG added, “She also wrote that she was in Singapore on a Dependant’s Pass.”

It was upon reading TISG’s article that DBS responded, saying that Ms Wadde was only a contract employee engaged through a third-party vendor from June to December 2019.
