Designed to be experienced at night, the Night Safari enables visitors to observe nocturnal animals in a natural habitat. But apparently, nocturnal animals may not be the only sighting that appears in the darkness.

One staff at the Night Safari, namely Muhd Bashah Khan Surattee – who goes by the name Affann on TikTok – shared on Facebook a TikTok video of him impersonating one of the visitors who encountered a ghostly sighting at the attraction.

Mr Affan began by imitating the visitor, who inquired if the Night Safari had “a new animal that can fly”, to which he answered “yes”.

Shortly after confirming that they did have a new animal, he realised something amiss.

The visitor went on to describe the spotted animal as “white and flying”.

Mr Affan repeated the question and covered his mouth in horror as he realised that the “white and flying” animal turns out to be something else.

What’s more, the visitor further described the animal smelled “so good”.

Contemplating whether or not to reveal what the visitor actually saw, Mr Affan asked himself: “Mampus…should I tell him?”

In the comment section of his post, which has garnered over 800 shares on Facebook, one netizen asked to clarify the “white, flying and smell nice” thing the visitor had spotted.

Mr Affan simply replied, “Pontianak”, which means vampire in Malay folklore.

Former staff of Night Safari recalls tourists spotted “white monkey” up on the tree

Another netizen, who claimed to be a former staff at the Night Safari, also chimed in the comment section to share his encounter of paranormal occurences at the attraction.

He recalled it was “an epic night to remember” when a couple of Japanese tourists asked him and his colleague if they can get the “white monkey” to climb down the tree.

When he asked the tourists where they spotted the white monkey, they pointed it was up on the tree, a few metres above them.

“Me and my colleague ask them to run back as fast as we could all 4 of us ran and we explained that in night safari there’s no white monkey wearing white cloth!!” he added.
