Single mother of three young children on Wednesday (21 Apr) received financial support from Circles.Life to rebuild her home, after winning a S$20,000 worth of Homes for Diversity & Belonging Lottery from the digital telco company.

In a statement, the Singapore-based company noted that about 400 participants took part in the lottery, which aimed to extend support to a family in the city-state that requires assistance to own a home.

The lottery was rolled out as part of Circles.Life’s new product launch, the Family Plan, a mobile data sharing plan that allows customers to choose the family that they want to share telco benefits with.

Circles.Life announced the winner on its Facebook page and Instagram earlier on Wednesday.

It noted that the winner, 31, is an example of people who are left out of the mainstream system and would greatly benefit from additional support in their challenging situations.

“We are extremely touched to have received many personal stories from the everyday people. Through these stories, we are more aware than ever on the impact of COVID-19 on families in Singapore.

“Some lost their jobs and struggled to put food on the table, some were not supported by their own family, some cramped up in their rented flat, others fell sick and needed more aid,” said Janice Chua, Circles.Life’s Head of Growth for Singapore.

Additionally, the company will also give out two SIM cards from the Family Plan, fully paid for three months, to all eligible participants of the Homes for Diversity & Belonging Lottery as a consolation prize.

“The lottery and Family Plan shows our commitment as we take gradual steps to support all types of families in Singapore and to give a family an opportunity to have a home they deserve.

“We believe that these intentional steps we take will go a long way to shaping a more inclusive society,” said Ms Chua.

Meanwhile, the winner of the lottery expressed gratitude to Circles.Life for enabling her to be “one step closer” to provide a stable and safe home for her children.

“Thank you Circles.Life for organizing this lottery that embraces and accepts all types of families, especially individuals who are in a similar predicament like myself.” said the winner of the Homes for Diversity & Belonging Lottery.
