Dear Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong,

Please note that the mismanagement of public property at Sungei Api Api has resulted in a huge waste of tax dollars.

For example, a river deck, constructed about a decade ago, has been unused for years. It appears totally damaged.

Falling trees and branches at the area have also caused serious damage, and this could have been prevented.

The Residents Committee (RC) in charge should have provided feedback to the Public Utilities Board (PUB) –  i.e. either prune or cut down nearby unhealthy trees.

Just have a look at the extent of the damage.

The People’s Association (PA) should note the ‘work’ of its RC – i.e. inability to even properly manage a river deck.

The river deck costs taxpayers at least ‘six figures’; tax dollars down the drain about a decade later?

I hope the Government will review its management of public property. After all, obvious issues should not require feedback.
