Dear Mr Ng Joo Hee (CEO of Public Utilities Board),
In recent years, numerous trees along Sungei Api Api have fallen into the river and also onto the jogging track.
Another tree fell just a few days ago.
The Public Utilities Board (PUB) should investigate this matter in order to determine the cause of the event, as it is rather abnormal for so many trees to simply ‘drop dead’.
Please also note that these trees, planted by the Pasir Ris-Punggol Town Council (PR-PTC), are being propped up by railings – which would otherwise have fallen into the river.
Railings along both sides of the river are PUB’s assets, funded by taxpayers.
Although the PR-PTC is aware of the above feedback – while the Ministry of National Development (MND) was informed two months ago – any action has yet to be taken.
As the PR-PTC does not have a proper tree management programme, I have appealed to NParks for assistance.

Since the PUB is responsible for the proper maintenance of railings, please confirm if appropriate action will be taken against the PR-PTC so as to prevent further damage to public property.
