A 39-year-old Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) regular serviceman died on Friday (26 Feb) after completing his own physical training in Kranji Camp.

He felt unwell after the training and was evacuated to Kranji Camp Medical Centre at 8.30 am.

He was conscious and subsequently conveyed to National University Hospital (NUH) via ambulance 20 minutes later.

On the way to NUH, he suffered a cardiac arrest. Resuscitative efforts were administered immediately.

The ambulance arrived at NUH at 9.10 am. However, the serviceman was pronounced dead at 10.58 am.

The Ministry of Defence and the SAF in a statement today extended their deepest condolences to the family of the late serviceman. SAF said that it is assisting the family in their time of grief.
