Facebook user Simon Tay shared a series of video on Nature Society (Singapore) group on Tuesday (26 Jan) detailing his second encounter with bats flying into his house.

According to Mr Tay, this is the second time over the last three months that his home was invaded by the winged creatures.

He added that this has never happened before in the past 21 years.

Mr Tay noted that there was only one bat during the first encounter, and now there appears to be two of them.

“Both time flew in from my living room north facing window which is unblock and can see the mountains in Johor,” he explained in his post.

Here’s a video of his first encounter a while back, showing a bat flying around in his his kitchen.

And here’s a video of his second and most recent encounter, showing two bats flying around in his living room.

Mr Tay posed a question in the group, asking if anyone knows the reason why bats have been regularly paying him a visit.

One of the commenters suggested that the bats – quite possibly a “fruit bat” – might have been attracted to the smell of bananas in his place.

Mr Tay replying saying that he had the same thought in mind, though he didn’t have any bananas during the previous encounter.

However, not long after that, Mr Tay confirmed that the bats were in fact attracted to the bananas.

He figured this out after successfully luring the bats out of his place by hanging a banana comb outside.

Mr Tay also shared a picture showing bite marks left by the bats on the bananas.

Business man opens pizza stall to prepare autistic son for future self-reliance

Henry Teong, a 56-year-old businessman with no prior experience in the food industry, and his wife opened a pizza stall, 168 Neapolitan Style Pizza, to prepare their 16-year-old autistic son, Jonus, for future self-reliance. The couple hopes to create a job for Jonus at the stall someday and train him to develop a sense of belonging and habit of doing something without forcing him to change his way of life. Netizens have applauded Mr Teong and his wife’s dedication to their son, and Rainbow Centre Singapore has also commended their story, hoping for more opportunities for autistic individuals to work and contribute meaningfully to society.
