As of Tuesday noon (8 Dec), the Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed 12 new cases of COVID-19 infection.

This brings the total number of infection cases to 58,285.

Amongst the new cases today, 9 are asymptomatic and were detected from screening and surveillance, while 3 were symptomatic.

There are no new cases of locally transmitted COVID-19 infection.

All of the new cases are imported cases, who had been placed on Stay-Home Notice upon arrival in Singapore.

Amongst the 12 imported cases, 1 (Case 58504) is a Singaporean and 2 (Cases 58491 and 58502) are Singapore Permanent Residents who returned from the UK, India and Indonesia respectively.

Another 8 (Cases 58493, 58494, 58495, 58498, 58499, 58500, 58501 and 58503) are Work Permit holders currently employed in Singapore who arrived from Indonesia and Myanmar.

The remaining case, a Short-Term Visit Pass holder (Case 58496) who arrived from Qatar, was already receiving medical care in Singapore and had returned for further treatment.

There are no new cases linked to clusters today

Update on condition of confirmed cases

8 more cases of COVID-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities. In all, 58,176 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.

There are currently 23 confirmed cases who are still in the hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and none is in the intensive care unit. 57 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms or are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19.

29 have passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection.
