男子喂食犀鸟短片广传 国家公园局介入调查

日前男子在咖啡店喂犀鸟食物的视频疯传,国家公园管理局将介入调查。

署名Joseph Choo的网民昨日(11月29日)在脸书群组Nature Society Singapore分享了在该区一家咖啡店,看见两只犀鸟在餐桌间跳来跳去,吃掉桌上食物残渣,甚至享用顾客喂食的一幕。他将有关过程拍下后,在脸书上分享的这视频,瞬间在社交媒体上流传开来。

当时,一名身穿蓝衣的男子站在犀鸟待着的桌子旁,剥香蕉皮喂食,而犀鸟似乎已经习惯了这名男子,乖乖地等待,并没有受到惊吓或飞走。

此举遭到许多网友的抨击,一向关注野生态的脸书专页“Nature Society Singapore’s Facebook group”指国家公园局好不容易增加犀鸟的数量。

“很担心这样下去会养成犀鸟的大胆,就像猴子和鸽子一样讨厌,因为人类故意喂养或将食物残渣留下来。”

根据《野生动物和飞禽法令》(Wild animals and Birds Act),喂食野生动物是违法的,初犯可被处以最高5千元罚款,而累犯将可被罚款最高1万元罚款。

根据《联合晚报》报道,蓝衣男子受访时并未意识到喂犀鸟会养成犀鸟的习惯,当时只是听说如果能够喂它们,它们也会离开。

他表示这些犀鸟在咖啡店出现已有六个月,所以他会先预备香蕉,喂食它们。

“我没有选择,如果我不喂它们,它们不会离开。”

此外,咖啡店其他摊主也表示,它们自半年前开始到咖啡店,几乎每天都会出现,时间大约在早上11点至下午4点之间。

国家公园局今日回复《海峡时报》询问,指针对喂养野生动物,将会严正以待。

“让野生动物接近人类的主要原因之一,即为喂养它们。”

国家公园局表示,“无论是有意或无意喂养野生动物,将会改变野生动物的自然行为,使他们习惯人类的存在并赖以生存。”

这也让野生动物遇到人类时容易产生攻击性行为,且野生动物也可能冒险进入城市内寻找食物,对驾驶者或动物无疑造成潜在危险。
