A video of a wild boar getting stuck while trying to pass through a fence near a forested area was shared on the Nature Society Singapore’s Facebook page on Thursday (26 November).
According to the caption attached to the video, it is possible that the green walls–erected at the perimeter of forested areas around the island due to construction–were one possible reason why the wild boars were driven out of their natural habitat.
In the video, one wild boar is seen ramming through the gap in the fence while another is struggling to get through.
Once the struggling animal makes it through the fence, a third boar attempts to get past the fence and into the forest area the same way but ends up getting stuck midway through as it is slightly larger.
A man can be seen in the video trying to help the boar through.
These fences, as eluded to by the person who shared the video, are put up around forested areas, lining walkways and pathways for the convenience and safety of both humans and animals.
However, it appears that these fences could also be a danger to the wild animals, as seen in this case.
