As of Wednesday noon (18 Nov), the Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed five new cases of COVID-19 infection.
This brings the total number of infection cases to 58,135.
There are no new cases of locally transmitted COVID-19 infection.
All of the five new cases are imported cases, who had already been placed on Stay-Home Notice or isolated upon arrival in Singapore.
All new cases today are asymptomatic and were detected from screening and surveillance.
Amongst the 5 imported cases, 3 (Cases 58339, 58340 and 58341) are Work Permit holders currently employed in Singapore who arrived from Myanmar. Another case (Case 58338) is a Student’s Pass holder who arrived from India. The remaining case (Case 58337) is a Short-Term Visit Pass holder who was allowed entry as he was already receiving medical care in Singapore and had returned for further treatment.
There are no new cases linked to existing or new clusters today.
MOH noted that it has been monitoring existing clusters for any further transmission. As there have been no more cases linked to the cluster at ASPRI-Westlite Papan (5 Jalan Papan) for the past two incubation periods (i.e. 28 days), the cluster has now been closed.
Update on condition of confirmed cases
7 more cases of COVID-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities. In all, 58,046 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.
There are currently 33 confirmed cases who are still in the hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and none is in the intensive care unit. 28 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms or are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19.
28 have passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection.
