A couple will be charged with murder with common intention on Thursday (Nov 12) over their alleged involvement in the death of their 11-year-old daughter, police said in a release on Wednesday (11 November).

Police said that it received an alert on the “unnatural death” of the girl around 1.20pm yesterday.

She was unconscious when conveyed to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital by ambulance earlier the same day at about 11am and was pronounced dead at 12.40pm, police added.

Police then arrested the couple after conducting follow-up investigations.

The 26-year-old woman is the biological mother of the deceased, while the 26-year-old man is the deceased’s stepfather.

Should the couple be found guilty of murder with common intention under Section 302(1) read in conjunction with Section 34 of the Penal Code, they may face the death penalty.

Ousted ex-Zilingo’s CEO sues investor US$100m for defamation

Ankiti Bose, the former co-founder and CEO of Zilingo, has filed a defamation lawsuit against angel investor Mahesh Murthy for $100m. Bose accused Murthy of falsely accusing her of taking money illegally out of her startup and causing damage to her name, reputation and image through an article in the Outlook Business magazine. Although Murthy did not name Bose in the article, Bose has claimed that the description in the article was far too specific about her and couldn’t have meant anyone else. Murthy is the co-founder of early-stage venture capital company Seedfund, which was one of the first investors in Zilingo.
